Malaysia driving license class D 101

A post about Malaysia's driving lesson route. According to law, minimum age for riding a motorbike is 16 while minimum age for driving a car ( manual/auto ) is 17. I managed to get my P driving license before my 18th birthday. So heres some tips and some information for those who are going to drive soon. PS I'm taking class D ( car-manual)
  1. Attend the KPP and theory course
After you registered, you will be given a textbook. Well this course is super long and damn boring if you don't have any accompanies. It is 6 hours long sitting on a lecturer chair ( actually it's about 4.5 hours after excluded the breaks within)
TIPS: you can bring comic or novels or a fully charged smartphone ( depends on the lecturer/teacher whether to confiscate them)The lecturer/teacher will talk to us about some of the rules and regulations on the road.
     Textbook given cover
Kandungan ( inner titles ) of the textbook
TIPS: you may choose to not listen and to not to pay attention during KPP course but you must read through the textbook in order to pass undang test.
Note that the questions in undang test will be mainly from page 31 to pg 160 of the book ( circled in photo)

TIPS: you may download this apps from apps store and done all the questions. For the lazier ones if you are too lazy to read through the text book then you must make sure yourself have done all the questions before attending undang test.
  2. Pass your undang test
You will need to book for the date which you preferred to take the test. Usually the driving institute will only allow you to take the test one week after you attended the KPP course. The test is conducted by computer, and you may need to wait for your turn to take the test if it is crowded. The minimum passing mark is 42/50. You may retake N times but each time will cost you RM60. I'd seen people failing seven times, so its not a joke for those who didn't even flip the book. Be serious or else you will need to retake several times.
  3. Get your L license
Usually this take a week after you pass your undang test. Remember to prepare a passport size photo together with the slip that shows you passed the test to be hand in to the driving institute.
  4. Start your driving lessonsThis part is the most interesting part I supposed. After a long time dealing with rules and regulations, finally you get to sit on the driver seat and turn the sterling the way you want to! At this part, there will be 2 sections including driving inside( the hill part, Z, S, side parking and 3 point turn) and driving on the road. There will be a instructor/teacher sitting beside you in every driving lessons at first. When you are considered okay, the instructor will give you chances to drive alone ( inside only ). You will need to do the RPK ( rutin pemeriksaan kereta ) too as it is included in the same section with the driving inside part. For driving lessons, there will probably have 3 options of time for you to choose from, usually it's the morning, afternoon and evening.TIPS for RPK: always remember there are 8 things in the bonnet ( left handside: air wiper, minyak brek, minyak hitam, tali sawat ; right handside: hos, tangki air, air radiator, bateri) , remember to check the car systematically ie. from bottom to top, from left to right or vice versa.TIPS : avoid choosing afternoon as it is scorching hot. If you can't do so, apply sunblock especially girls.
  5. LE Driving test
After you booked for the battle day of yours, remember to be confident on that day. You need to reach the driving institute in the morning. Then you have to wait for your turn to be tested. There will be 2 sections for the driving test ie. the inside ones ( hill part, Z, S, side parking, 3 point turn including RPK) and the outside ones ( on the road ). You can retake as many as times as you failed, but each will cost you RM90+- ( varies according to driving institute )
    WHY FAIL???
    - not enough marks to pass ( minimum for manual car is 61/70 )
    - fault
    - exclude the given time for each exam ( inside ones eg. side parking)
  6. THE LONG WAITED P LICENSE
After you passed, attach a photo to the driving institute together with the slip. You will then get your P license within a week of working days.
TIPS: If you want to get your license ASAP, you may straight proceed to JPJ, it seems to be possible to get your license in 1 hour. Ps, provided that you have the time and transport.

FINALLY, GOODLUCK GUYS join me with your P license :P
